The Star Trek universe was filled with a vast array of diverse alien species, and the Mugatu (aka Mugato) was one of the franchise's strangest beasts most memorable for its odd appearance and dangerous behavior. Making their debut in "A Private Little War", the Mugatu was shown to be a large ape-like creature with white fur and an imposing horn on its head. The episode established that Captain James Kirk had previously visited the planet in the year 2255, and that he was aware of the existence of the dangerous animals. In this episode he was attacked by the Mugatu and suffered from its poison that nearly killed him. The action figures in this series issued by Playmates Toys stand around 4.5 inches tall. Each comes on a 10-inch by 7.5-inch hanging card. On the card are an intricately detailed figure, a base for the figure, some figure accessories, and a 4-inch by 2.5- inch collector’s trading card. The figure, base, accessories, and trading card are all sealed inside a clear plastic protective bubble. Thus, the figure may be kept as a collectible in its mint on card (MOC) condition or the parts may be removed and displayed. The figure is in mint condition inside its near-mint original packaging (see photo) . . . it has never been opened, there is no fading, no corner nubs on the hanging card, no creases or bends, no bubble damage.
